Position Overview

Qatar Airways is seeking experienced professionals to join our Global Business Services (GBS) team in Ahmedabad as Credit Controller – Accounts Receivable. This role is central to controlling, monitoring, and managing the accounts receivables across the Qatar Airways global network.

The Credit Controller will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and accounting procedures, overseeing multiple receivable channels such as BSP, CASS, Digital Sales, GSA, ATO, and CTO. You will play a key role in reviewing customer accounts, managing overdue balances, and supporting station finance staff to ensure smooth operations and timely collections. This is a high-accountability position that demands attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to proactively manage financial risk.

Key Responsibilities

As a Credit Controller – Accounts Receivable, your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing, reconciling, and validating accounts receivable statements to ensure accurate and timely accounting of all transactions.

  • Monitoring customer accounts daily and working closely with banks, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.

  • Reviewing customer credit evaluations and reviews performed by business teams to ensure compliance with internal financial policies.

  • Continuously monitoring sales against credit limits and securities to ensure adequate financial coverage.

  • Supporting and coaching station finance staff, sales ledger teams, and cashiering staff to achieve the overall objectives of the AR unit.

  • Ensuring invoices are submitted accurately to customers and that receipts are correctly matched against invoices, resolving disputes quickly.

  • Coordinating with business teams and customers to ensure invoicing and collections align with contract terms.

  • Reviewing and reconciling receivable write-offs, debit notes, credit card chargebacks, and related transactions.

  • Ensuring cash in safe or transit is properly insured in line with company risk policies.

  • Reviewing and analyzing waiver requests, debit notes, and write-offs, escalating exceptions to finance management.

  • Managing and monitoring bank guarantees to mitigate risk, including coordination for renewals with station teams.

  • Sharing Early Warning System (EWS) reports regularly with station teams to identify and address potential risks.

  • Performing BSP/CASS link operations and monitoring productive/non-productive agents, taking corrective measures when needed.

  • Actively monitoring aging reports, implementing robust follow-up mechanisms for overdue accounts, and maintaining clean ledgers.

  • Engaging with defaulting agents, following up on legal cases, and pursuing settlements to reduce financial exposure.

  • Ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs are met, including on-time collections, timely resolution of customer queries, and effective management of ticketing access.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 2 years of job-related experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or financial operations.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, graphs, and reporting).

  • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle ERP preferred).

  • Excellent command of English language with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and accountability in managing overdue receivables.
