Position Overview:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Tesco is looking for a skilled and detail-focused Senior Associate- Financial Accounting<\/strong>\u00a0to join our Finance team. This role supports the General Accounting Manager in managing transactional ledger processes, reconciling accounts, ensuring accurate period-end close, and maintaining compliance with internal controls. It\u2019s a great opportunity to build expertise in general ledger operations within a dynamic shared services environment.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h4>\n
    \n
  • \n

    Perform sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations and support month-end close processes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Handle financial transactions using standard accounting principles such as debits, credits, accruals, and control account logic.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies by investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Maintain and update financial trackers and reconciliation reports.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Work with cross-functional teams (IT, operations, etc.) to resolve processing or data issues.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Support statutory and internal audits by providing timely and accurate documentation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines and with high accuracy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Contribute to process improvements and support team development by mentoring new joiners.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Adhere to Tesco\u2019s Business Code of Conduct and ensure compliance across all responsibilities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Own and manage individual development with guidance from the line manager.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Skills Required:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      Strong understanding of financial accounting concepts and reconciliation processes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Effective communication skills and collaborative working style.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Strong sense of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Familiarity with control environments and audit support processes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Qualifications:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      • \n

        Bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        2\u20134 years of relevant experience in financial or general ledger accounting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Experience in a shared services or multinational environment preferred.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
