Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Accounting Specialist to join our finance team at Honeywell. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial records across key accounting functions including R2R, general ledger management, month-end close, and financial reporting. You will also support regulatory compliance, drive process improvements, and partner with business stakeholders to deliver US GAAP–compliant financials.
Your expertise will provide reliable insights that support informed decision-making and strengthen the organization’s financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting
  • Execute end-to-end general accounting activities with strong process excellence in R2R.

  • Manage month-end close processes, including revaluation, accruals, reclass, and recurring journal entries.

  • Ensure high-quality and timely account reconciliations with no unexplained variances.

  • Uphold compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Handle VAT clearing, payroll postings, accrual postings, and reconciliation tasks.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting methods and departmental processes.

  • Leverage technologies such as RPA, Power BI, and other analytical tools for process enhancement.

Business Partnership & Process Improvement
  • Collaborate closely with finance and business stakeholders to deliver accurate US GAAP–compliant financials.

  • Provide financial reports, analysis, and insights using SAP and other reporting systems.

  • Maintain transparent accounting practices and professional relationships with auditors and internal teams.

  • Support business initiatives, controllership transitions, and finance-related projects.

  • Identify, propose, and execute process improvement opportunities.

  • Manage ad-hoc queries from business teams, country finance teams, and other stakeholders.

  • Work flexible shifts as required to support the business model.

Skills & Qualifications

Education
  • MBA in Finance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting

Experience

  • 8+ years of overall finance experience

  • Must have 10+ years of experience in the finance domain

  • Strong technical and system expertise is a must

Critical Knowledge & Skills

  • Hands-on experience with SAP (GL, AR, AP, MM, FA)

  • Experience with Hyperion or other financial consolidation platforms

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and global accounting standards

  • Deep knowledge of R2R processes, best practices, and value-added initiatives

  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills

  • Exposure to banking domain processes is an added advantage

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work flexible shift timings

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing full close processes for multinational organizations

  • Audit experience is an advantage

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Proactive, self-driven, and capable of leading creative solutions
