Finance Specialist – General Accounting

Position Overview

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Finance Specialist – General Accounting (GA) with expertise in General Ledger (GL) and Record to Report (R2R) processes. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting activities, supporting book closing processes, and addressing ad hoc requests such as monitoring ServiceNow and Blackline tasks. This position requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and hands-on experience with SAP S4/Hana.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting activities, applying established standards for financial transaction recording.

• Manage GL accounting requests and support monthly/quarterly book closing activities.

• Handle ServiceNow and Blackline tasks efficiently.

• Conduct variance analysis and execute quality checks on financial reporting data.

• Assist in developing and optimizing financial processes to drive efficiency and productivity.

• Perform reconciliations and related activities (Trintech, Blackline, ServiceNow).

• Support data gathering and basic financial analysis to ensure accuracy of R2R reporting (HFM/Tagetik).

• Execute assigned accounting analyses and reports.

• Ensure compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICoFR), including testing and documentation.

• Maintain adherence to internal and external accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Uphold Hitachi Energy’s values of safety, integrity, and accountability in all tasks.

Skills & Qualifications

• Semi-qualified CA, B.Com, or MBA in Finance/Accounting.

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in General Accounting, GL, or R2R.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and discipline.

• Excellent communication skills and sound knowledge of finance/accounting practices.

• Proficiency in SAP S4/Hana preferred.

• Fluency in spoken and written English.
