Accountant

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accountant with strong expertise in R2R, month-end close, financial reporting, and SAP. The role involves delivering accurate US GAAP-compliant financials, managing reconciliations, and supporting business stakeholders through high-quality reporting, analysis, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Handle end-to-end general accounting activities with strong R2R understanding.

• Manage month-end close processes including revaluation, accruals, reclass, and recurring journal entries.

• Ensure timely and accurate account reconciliations with no unexplained items.

• Ensure adherence to financial policies, controls, and compliance standards.

• Support VAT clearing, payroll postings, accruals, and reconciliation activities.

• Recommend and implement improvements in accounting practices and departmental procedures.

• Utilize tools like RPA, Power BI, and analytics platforms to enhance accounting efficiency.

Business Partnership & Process Improvement

• Maintain regular collaboration with finance and business teams to deliver US GAAP-compliant financials.

• Provide financial analysis, explanations, and reports through strong knowledge of GAAP and SAP systems.

• Maintain transparent accounting practices and build strong stakeholder relationships.

• Support new business initiatives, controllership transitions, and finance projects.

• Identify, propose, and implement process improvement opportunities.

• Resolve ad-hoc queries from business, in-country teams, and other stakeholders.

• Adapt to flexible work shifts as required by business operations.

Skills & Qualifications

Education

• MBA in Finance

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting

Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of overall finance experience

• Candidates must have worked in the finance domain for at least 10+ years

• Technical & system subject matter expertise is required

Knowledge & Skills – Critical

• Hands-on experience with SAP GL, AR, AP, MM, FA modules

• Experience working with Hyperion or other consolidation tools

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and other global accounting standards

• Strong analytical and technical accounting skills

• Deep knowledge of R2R concepts, best practices, and finance processes

• Banking domain experience is an added advantage

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility with shift timings

Preferable

• Experience managing full-close processes for multinational groups

• Audit experience is an added advantage

• Strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skills

• Proactive and able to lead solutions with minimal supervision
