Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong expertise in General Accounting, R2R processes, month-close activities, financial reporting, and SAP systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge in accounting standards, analytical skills, and the ability to work seamlessly with stakeholders across finance and business teams.

Job Description

General Accounting & R2R

• Strong conceptual understanding and process excellence in Record to Report (R2R).

• Expertise in month-end close and financial reporting.

• Prepare key month-end journal entries such as revaluation, accruals, reclassifications, recurring JEs, etc.

• Deliver high-quality account reconciliations with no unexplained items.

• Ensure full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and accounting standards.

• Coordinate accounting methods and recommend process improvements.

• Manage period-close activities including VAT clearing, payroll postings, accrual postings, and reconciliations.

• Work with advanced analytical and automation tools including RPA, Power BI, and other financial technologies.

Business Partnership & Process Improvement

• Collaborate regularly with finance stakeholders and business teams to deliver US GAAP-compliant financials.

• Provide financial reports, analysis, explanations, and recommendations using SAP systems and GAAP knowledge.

• Maintain transparent accounting practices and strong internal/external stakeholder relationships.

• Support new business initiatives, finance transformation projects, and process transitions.

• Identify and propose process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.

• Manage ad-hoc requests from business and in-country teams.

• Flexibility to support shift-based operations as per business needs.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• MBA in Finance

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting (B.Com, BBA Finance, BBM, or equivalent)

Experience

• 3+ years of overall finance experience

• Strong technical and system expertise in accounting environments

Knowledge & Skills

Critical Skills

• Hands-on experience with SAP (GL, AR/AP, MM, FA)

• Experience with Hyperion or other consolidation/reporting systems

• Strong understanding of US GAAP/other global accounting standards

• Expertise in R2R concepts, accounting processes, and best practices

• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Exposure to data analytics tools

• Flexible with shift timings

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing full-close cycles for multinational companies

• Prior audit experience is an added advantage

• Proactive, solution-driven mindset

• Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
