Accountant

Position Overview

Garena India is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax and audit regulations, and supporting the company’s financial operations. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and headquarters to maintain the integrity of financial processes and contribute to the smooth running of business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and Fixed Assets (FA).

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reporting packages.

• Support the implementation of strong financial processes, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.

• Assist in statutory compliance, audits, and the preparation of required documentation.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and local tax requirements.

• Maintain and update the Accounts Payable module and vendor information.

• Support monthly closing activities and ensure timely completion of books.

• Assist with tax compliance and filings in accordance with Indian regulations.

• Support accounting processes for new entities, when applicable.

• Perform finance-related ad hoc duties as assigned by management.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or CA Intermediate / equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or related finance roles; experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred but not required.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, local tax laws, and audit regulations (Indian tax/audit knowledge preferred).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Oracle (EBS, Hyperion).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of working effectively across teams and cultures.

• Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.

• Flexible, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.

• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
